In den Weinbergen in und rund um Bozen hat in diesen Tagen die St. Magdalener Ernte 2011 begonnen. Am 14. September machte die Kellerei Bozen mit den ersten frühreifen Lagen den Auftakt zur St. Magdalener Wimmsaison. Eine sehr gute Ernte erwartet sich Stephan Filippi, der Kellermeister der Kellerei Bozen: [:it]

In the vineyards in and around Bolzano, the 2011 Santa Maddalena harvest has just begun. On September 14, the Bolzano Winery kicked off the Santa Maddalena harvest season at the first early-ripening locations. Stephan Filippi, winemaker of the Bolzano Winery, expects a very good harvest. [:][:de]„Der Gesundheitszustand der Trauben ist heuer perfekt. Zucker- und Säurewerte ähneln jenen des Vorjahres und die Menge liegt leicht über jener des Jahrgangs 2010.“ Witterungsmäßig war der Jahrgang 2011 sicherlich nicht einer der angenehmsten: Er hat die Weinbauern mit abwechselnden Regen- und Hitzeperioden stark gefordert. Vor Hagelschlag wurde das St. Magdalener Gebiet in diesem Jahr aber weitgehend verschont. Und die Wochen vor der Ernte hat das Wetter gut mitgespielt und eine ideale Traubenreife gefördert.
Die St. Magdalener Weinbauern hoffen, bis Ende September alle Vernatsch-Trauben im Keller zu haben und vor allem darauf, dass die Ernte 2011 an die ausgezeichneten Vernatsch-Jahrgänge 2009 und 2010 anschließen kann.
Heinrich Plattner alter und neuer Obmann des Schutzkonsortiums
Vollversammlung und Neuwahlen standen beim St. Magdalener Schutzkonsortium noch kurz vor Beginn der Ernte auf der Tagesordnung. Heinrich Plattner vom Waldgrieshof, seit 1990 Obmann des Schutzkonsortiums, wurde einstimmig in seinem Amt für die nächste Dreijahresperiode bis 2014 bestätigt. Der alte und neue Obmann freut sich über das große Vertrauen: „Das ist für mich Ansporn und Verpflichtung, den St. Magdalener, unseren Bozner Wein par excellence, noch stärker in den Mittelpunkt zu stellen und für ihn zu werben.“
Zum Stellvertreter wurde Ulrich Trockner vom Braunhof in St. Justina, der Vize-Obmann der Kellerei Bozen, gewählt. Neu im Vorstand ist Armin Platter vom Mockhof. Bestätigt wurden Georg Mumelter vom Griesbauerhof als Kassier, Franz Gojer vom Glögglhof als Vorsitzender des Aufsichtsrates sowie Michael Bradlwarter von der Kellerei Bozen, Peter Egger von der Weinkellerei Egger-Ramer, Alfred Malojer vom Gummerhof, Josephus Mayr Unterganzner, Toni Rottensteiner von der gleichnamigen Weinkellerei, Hannes Pfeifer vom Pfannenstielhof und Stefan Ramoser vom Fliederhof als Vorstandsmitglieder. Ernannt wurden auch die Mitglieder für die Verkostungskommission und für das Werbekomitee.

[:it] Stephan Filippi, enologo della Cantina di Bolzano, si attende un’ottima vendemmia: “Quest’anno l’uva è in perfetto stato. Il contenuto di zuccheri e il grado di acidità sono simili a quelli dell’anno precedente, la quantità invece è leggermente superiore al 2010”.
L’annata 2011 non ha sicuramente registrato condizioni meteorologiche particolarmente buone, mettendo anche spesso a dura prova i viticoltori con piogge alternate a periodi di grande calura. Quest’anno però la zona di Santa Maddalena è stata in gran parte risparmiata dalla grandine. E nelle settimane prima della vendemmia il tempo è stato buono, favorendo così una maturazione ideale per l’uva.
I viticoltori di Santa Maddalena sperano di riuscire a vendemmiare tutta l’uva Schiava entro fine settembre, ma soprattutto che la vendemmia 2011 riconfermi le ottime annate del 2009 e del 2010.
Riconfermato il Presidente uscente del Consorzio di Tutela, Heinrich Plattner
Poco prima di dare inizio alla vendemmia, il Consorzio di Tutela Santa Maddalena ha convocato un’assemblea generale e indetto nuove elezioni. Heinrich Plattner della Tenuta Waldgrieshof, dal 1990 Presidente del Consorzio di Tutela, è stato rieletto all’unanimità anche per il prossimo triennio che scadrà nel 2014. Il Presidente uscente, riconfermato nella sua carica, è felice per la fiducia dimostrata: “Per me è uno stimolo e un impegno a promuovere sempre di più il vino di Santa Maddalena, il vino bolzanino per eccellenza, che dovrà essere sempre più protagonista.“
La carica di Vicepresidente è stata conferita a Ulrich Trockner del Maso Braunhof di Santa Giustina, anche Vicepresidente della Cantina di Bolzano. Entra per la prima volta nel direttivo Armin Platter del Mockhof, mentre è stato riconfermato cassiere Georg Mumelter del Griesbauerhof. Presidente del Collegio dei Revisori è Franz Gojer del Glögglhof. Gli altri membri del direttivo sono Michael Bradlwarter della Cantina di Bolzano, Peter Egger della Cantina Egger-Ramer, Alfred Malojer del Gummerhof, Josephus Mayr Unterganzner, Toni Rottensteiner della Cantina omonima, Hannes Pfeifer del Pfannenstielhof e Stefan Ramoser del Fliederhof. Sono stati inoltre nominati anche i membri della Commissione di degustazione e della Commissione per le attività promozionali.

Sugar and acidity values are similar to those of last year, and the total yield harvested is slightly higher than the 2010 vintage.” With regard to the weather, the 2011 vintage was certainly not one of the most pleasant: it presented great challenges to the winegrowers with alternating periods of rain and heat. But this year, the Santa Maddalena zone was for the most part spared from hail. And the week before the harvest, the weather cooperated quite nicely, encouraging the ideal ripening of the grapes.
The Santa Maddalena winegrowers hope to have all of the Vernatsch (Schiava) grapes in the winery by the end of September, and they especially hope that the 2011 harvest can join the outstanding Vernatsch vintages of 2009 and 2010.
Heinrich Plattner: Former and New Chairman of the Protection Consortium
The annual meeting and new elections were on the agenda with the Santa Maddalena Protection Consortium shortly before the beginning of the harvest. Heinrich Plattner of the Waldgrieshof, who has served as chairman of the Protection Consortium since 1990, was unanimously returned to office for the next three year period through 2014. The former and new chairman was pleased about the great confidence. “For me, this is the incentive and the obligation to place an even greater focus on Santa Maddalena, our Bolzano wine par excellence, and to promote it even further.”
Elected as deputy was Ulrich Trockner of the Braunhof in St. Justina, the vice-president of the Bolzano Winery. New to the board of directors is Armin Platter of the Mockhof. Reelected to their positions were Georg Mumelter of the Griesbauerhof as treasurer and Franz Gojer of the Glögglhof as chairman of the supervisory board, as well as the members of the board of directors Michael Bradlwarter of the Bolzano Winery, Peter Egger of the Egger-Ramer Winery, Alfred Malojer of the Gummerhof, Josephus Mayr of Unterganzner, Toni Rottensteiner of the winery of the same name, Hannes Pfeifer of the Pfannenstielhof, and Stefan Ramoser of the Fliederhof. Also appointed were the members of the Tasting Commission and of the Promotional Committee.
