Farbintensive Weine mit lebendiger Frucht, angenehmem Körper und saftiger Länge, das verspricht der St. Magdalener Jahrgang 2011. Von einem „interessanten, sehr spannenden Jahrgang“ spricht Stephan Filippi, der Kellermeister der Kellerei Bozen und reiht den Jahrgang 2011 qualitätsmäßig gleich hinter den beiden außergewöhnlich guten Jahrgängen 2009 und 2010 ein. Die Erntemenge beim St. Magdalener lag bei der heurigen Ernte leicht über jener des Vorjahres. „Witterungsbedingt gab es Gott sei Dank keine Schäden und Auswirkungen zu verzeichnen“, so Filippi, „und auch im Keller gab es bei den Jungweinen einen konstanten Gärverlauf ohne Probleme“.

Der Jahrgang zeichnet sich vor allem durch intensive Farbnoten und sehr fruchtbetonte Aromen aus. „Der Alkoholgehalt liegt einen halben bis einen Volumenprozent unter dem Durchschnitt des letzten Jahres, was sicher dem anregenden Trinkvergnügen entgegenkommt. Die Säurewerte liegen im normalen Durchschnittsbereich und versprechen saftige, lebendig-frische Weine.“
