Skulptur Tor zum Gebiet

Rechtzeitig zur Ernte 2011 wurde auf Initiative des Schutzkonsortiums an der Nordeinfahrt nach Bozen, am Tor zum St. Magdalener Anbaugebiet ein eindrucksvoller, sichtbarer Hinweis auf das klassische Bozner Weinbaugebiet aufgestellt: eine symbolische Traube mit stilisierter Pergel. [:it]

In occasione della vendemmia il Consorzio di Tutela ha fatto erigere all’entrata nord di Bolzano, alle porte della zona di produzione del Santa Maddalena, un imponente simbolo che indica la zona classica di Bolzano di coltivazione dell’uva: un grappolo di uva simbolico con una pergola stilizzata.[:en]

At the initiative of the Protection Consortium, at the northern entry toward Bolzano at the gate to the St. Magdalener cultivation zone, a visible indication of the classic Bolzano winegrowing area was put up just in time for the 2011 harvest: a symbolic bunch of grapes with a stylized trellis. Ein Tor zum St. Magdalener Gebiet

Auf dem Grünstreifen zwischen der Brennerstraße und der Auffahrt zum Eggentaler Kreisverkehr steht in Bozen Nord seit kurzem eine markante Skulptur. „Ein sichtbares Zeichen und ein offenes Tor hin zum St. Magdalener Weinbaugebiet“, wie Heinrich Plattner erklärt, der Obmann des St. Magdalener Schutzkonsortiums, welches für diese Initiative verantwortlich zeichnet.

Unter einer stilisierten Pergel in Stahl, welche den Schriftzug „St. Magdalener Gebiet – Zona S. Maddalena“ trägt, steht als Blickfang eine überdimensionale Vernatschtraube mit Weinbeeren aus Porphyr. Ein Stahlreifen, der die Symbolik des Weinfasses aufgreift, trennt das bestehende Grün von einer unter dem Objekt eingebrachten Rundkiesschicht.

Die Skulptur wurde im Auftrag des Schutzkonsortiums St. Magdalena vom Traminer Künstler Adolf Mayer und der Firma Stahlbau Pichler errichtet. Dank der guten Zusammenarbeit mit der Gemeinde Karneid und dem Straßenbeschilderungsdienst konnte das Projekt nach langer Planungs- und Vorbereitungszeit realisiert werden. Treibende Kräfte dabei waren neben Obmann Plattner auch Josephus Mayr, Unterganzner und Franz Gojer vom Glögglhof.

Una porta sulla zona del Santa Maddalena

A Bolzano nord, sul bordo verde tra la via Brennero e la salita alla rotatoria della Val d’Ega, troneggia da poco una notevole scultura. “Un simbolo visibile e una porta aperta verso la zona vitivinicola del Santa Maddalena”, la definisce Heinrich Plattner, Presidente del Consorzio per la Tutela del Santa Maddalena, promotore di questa iniziativa.

Sotto una pergola stilizzata in acciaio con la scritta “St. Magdalener Gebiet – Zona S. Maddalena” attira l’attenzione un grappolo di Schiava sovradimensionato, con acini in porfido. Un cerchio in acciaio, che simboleggia la botte, divide il verde circostante da uno strato di ghiaia posizionato sotto l’oggetto d’arte.

Dopo una lunga fase progettuale e preparatoria, la scultura è stata realizzata su incarico del Consorzio per la tutela del Santa Maddalena dall’artista Adolf Mayer di Termeno e dalla ditta Stahlbau Pichler, anche grazie all’ottima collaborazione con il Comune di Cornedo e il Servizio segnaletica stradale. Per la realizzazione si sono impegnati, oltre al Presidente Plattner, anche Josephus Mayr, Unterganzner e Franz Gojer del Glögglhof.

A Gateway to the St. Magdalener Zone

On the parkway between the Brenner highway and the ramp to the Eggental traffic circle near the Bolzano Nord exit from the Autostrada may now be found a striking sculpture. “A visible sign and an open gate to the St. Magdalener winegrowing area” is how it was explained by Heinrich Plattner, chairman of the St. Magdalener Protection Consortium, which took the responsibility for this initiative.

Under a stylized trellis made of steel which bears the bilingual inscription “St. Magdalener Gebiet – Zona S. Maddalena” stands the eye-catching, oversized bunch of Vernatsch (Schiava) grapes with the berries made of porphyry. A steel hoop, which is symbolic of the wine barrel, divides the existing green space from a layer of round pebbles that were placed under the object.
